Donna is an organizational psychologist who collaborates with business leaders to create high performing organizations. She draws on her in-depth experience in organizational effectiveness, leadership development, coaching, and change management to identify opportunities to enhance the health and productivity of individuals, teams, and organizations.
Donna has over 25 years experience as a consultant and human resources manager. She is recognized for her ability to help managers focus employee efforts on the achievement of business results. She is skilled at helping leaders understand the big picture and identify critical details. She has experience with clients in a variety of sectors including utility, health care, retail, insurance, government, engineering, manufacturing, professional services, and education.
In her various consulting projects, Donna has proven her ability to help clients improve individual, team, and organizational effectiveness. She designed, implemented, and facilitated assessment systems that provided developmental feedback to supervisors, managers, and other high potential employees. She has designed and delivered workshops to help managers better understand their leadership style and its impact on others. Donna has coached executives and other leaders to improve their performance and working relationships. Donna’s coaching experience includes stand-alone engagements as well as integrating coaching into her work with executives and managers implementing key business initiatives.
Donna’s organizational effectiveness consulting also includes in-depth experience in change management and aligning organizations to deliver business results. She helped restructure an organization to make it more customer focused. She then designed and facilitated the process used to staff the management teams and helped them create and manage the change process. In another project, Donna guided the executive and his team through a strategic planning process and a redesign of the organization. She then supported their efforts in restructuring the organization and implementing their strategic plan.
As a human resources manager at Southern Company, Donna demonstrated her ability to create and build effective teams and organizations. She created an internal management consulting group that guided organizations through restructuring, change management, team building, and process improvement. She was a key member of the leadership team that created Southern Company’s corporate university. In that role, she led project teams of over 60 managers and technical experts to create internationally recognized training programs.
Donna’s credentials include a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Georgia State University and an A.B. in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia and a member of the American Psychological Association, The Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and the Society of Consulting Psychology. Donna is a member of the Human Resources Leadership Forum and an affiliate of HR People & Strategy.
